Anett Fritsch stars as Pamina in ‘Die Zauberflöte’ at Teatro Real de Madrid
Anett Fritsch starts the new year at the Teatro Real de Madrid as Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. Ms. Fritsch stars in Barrie Kosky’s critically acclaimed production for a second time. She previously sang in the production at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in 2015. This fantastic staging utilizes hand-drawn animations projected on stage, to create a silent film-inspired fantasy world. Ivor Bolton leads the Teatro Real Orchestra and Chorus.
Performances will take place on January 19, 25 & 30, and February 2, 7, 10 & 13. Ms. Fritsch shares the stage with a star-studded cast, including Andrea Mastroni as Sarastro/Narrator, Stanislas de Barbeyrac as Tamino, Albina Shagimuratova and Aleksandra Olczyk as the Queen of the Night, Elena Copons, Gemma Coma-Alabert, and Marie-Luisse Dressen as the Three Ladies, Ruth Rosique as Papagena, Andreas Wolf as Papageno, Mikeldi Atxalandabaso as Monostatos, and Antonio Lozano and Felipe Bou as Two men with armor.
